The Portable Hotel
Platform Redesign at SnoozeBox, Jan 2015

PROJECT ๐Ÿ“

SnoozeBox is a leading provider of container accommodation solutions for most commercial situations, and we excel in rapid deployment. We have significant expertise in project planning, deployment and operation of these types of accommodation.

The innovative Snoozy sleeping pod is a fast accommodation solution that delivers comfortable and portable accommodation. Deployed with 40 units per container they can be transported to most locations and each unit is built in approximately 1 hour.

The container based accommodation solution is CSC standard and can be efficiently transported in order to provide semi-permanent accommodation solutions, where accommodation units are required for a period of time ideally 6 months or longer, although shorter term commissions are possible and feasible dependent upon budget.

Less is more

It's always exciting to do a redesign. You have a clear starting point and a list of requirements to achieve the end goal. The new concept was beyond just accommodation. It was the beginning of a new community around SnoozeBox. We focused on increasing the visibility of the events, creating a feed of user generated content and making the buying process more easy and faster for the user. ๐ŸŽŠ

Bold to be wild

SnoozeBox's branding guidelines were already predefined. An innovative, bold, smart and clean company. Minimal design with bold typography was the way to go. The concept of the cube rooms was introduced in the platform by adding a subtle frame to the different sections of each page. ๐ŸŽŠ

Better Together

The sense of community was really important for SnoozeBox. With lots of users using their services and with the help of the main social networks I designed a community feed with automatic user generated content gathered from Facebook, Twitter and so on. ๐ŸŽŠ

What I learnt

By doing this entire redesign I was able to improve each issue found on the previous version of the platform. I pushed my creativity to deliver something serious, modern and exciting at the same time. Doing the timeframe by myself allowed me to better calculate time. ๐Ÿ
